A Letter From Our Incoming President
Fellow Members of the Trial Lawyers of Puerto Rico:
It is an honor and a privilege to be the new President of the Trial Lawyers of Puerto Rico. Ever since I started doing business on the island in December of 2004, I hoped that I would find a way to spend more time in Puerto Rico. When the Act 20/22 program was launched in 2012, I wasted little time in moving my law firm office, my family, and my life to San Juan.
Over the past 10 years, Puerto Rico has enriched my life and the life of my family in ways words could never capture. During this time, my family and I have been involved in many opportunities to give back to the Island that has given us so much to be thankful for.
Thanks to the inspiration of a group of talented attorneys that relocated to Puerto Rico in the past few years including Marie Napoli, Paul Napoli, Hunter Shkolnik, Mikal Watts, Paul Farrell, Michael Fuller, Ari Kresch, Bill Pintas and James Bergener, the Trial Lawyers of Puerto Rico was born. This amazing organization is a fantastic outlet for attorneys on the island to organize their efforts to make a difference to the citizens of PR and help those most in need.
TLPR’s first conference, Mass Torts Puerto Rico, held at the Vanderbilt in May was so well received that it’s sure to become an annual event. With the participation of the current and former Governors and an A-list of America’s best trial attorneys, over 300 people visited for the four-day event and witnessed first-hand the amazing work our organization is undertaking.
With the mission of creating educational opportunities in mind, the Trial Lawyers of Puerto Rico has been working on ways to collaborate with people and entities that are aligned with our interests and who support our objective. I am pleased to announce that we donated a significant amount of the proceeds from our first conference to The Boys and Girls Club of Puerto Rico. The Club is a leader in the effort to revamp its educational system and enhance opportunities for advancement for Puerto Ricans. We are happy to continue supporting the Club and its Mission.
This is just the beginning of the TLPR’s efforts to give back to our community and add exponential value for our members. There are many other exciting plans this upcoming year, so watch for future announcements!
See you soon,
Marc Grossman
